Alas, the MIA blog writer returns and impeccable timing too. I'm pretty much the worst blog writer ever. EVER.
All day I've seen post after post and article after article recapping their 2015. I reflect on my 2015 and automatically I came name a million things that didn't go quite as planned. The bright side? I can name just as many good things that happened as well. I think back to Thanksgiving when my family makes everyone say one thing they are thankful for. As we circled around I heard- family, health, happiness, etc. When it was Joe's turn, he said something that I now think about every day.
Be thankful for the good times as much as the bad, because we learn and grow from the bad. So... back to naming off those "bad" things that happened in 2015- I tried to see the lesson or value of that trial.
Today I've also seen people making new years resolutions. I'll be honest... I HATE NY resolutions. I'm practically setting myself up for failure because I never follow fully through, and I don't cope well with failure. That word doesn't even exist in my vocabulary! Last year I said I would send cards and written notes to friends and loved ones for all occasions. Well, maybe 1/4 people received a birthday card and don't get me started about Christmas.
However, I did see one post today that really made me stop and think.
"You don't need the 1st of January to change your life. Just saying."
Talk about speaking volumes! I'm an advocate that only you can make a difference or change how your life is going. You have the control to make it better, and that one little statement up there... it's the truth. We just don't want to admit it.
As we ring in the new year, take a chance to reflect on the past and decide how you want to change the future! Happy, happy New Year!
PSA: Make safe choices tonight people! Hand the keys over or call a friend! No drink is worth a life.

Cold Snap! Oh Snap! Top Reasons I Love Fall
These two days of cooler weather reminded me why I love the fall. I would have to say this is my favorite season, and like every year, it greeted me with illness. Seasons change- never fails I have some sinus, respiratory, ENT issue. I am on the tail end of bronchitis and a double ear infection and a super mega dosage of antibiotics.
Of course, illness is not why fall is my favorite season, and like other girls, it is not my favorite season because of leggings, boots, and pumpkin spice lattes.
Fun fact: did you know people abbreviate this as PSL? I didn't, and I was incredibly concerned when a ton of people on my social media got their first PSL this year. I thought the zombie apocalypse was beginning.
Why do I love fall though? Not why most would think...
5. It's the season of crock pot meals, chili, and soup. I have a really hard time eating soups throughout the spring and summer. I just don't understand why someone wants a heavy, hearty meal in the sweltering heat. One year, I prepped 30 days of crock pot meals, so we took full advantage of the beginning of crock pot season.
4. No more shorts and tanks! I can finally pull out those comfy sweats and over-sized sweater and not be judged for wearing it! The other plus... no need to shave our legs. Every. Day. I always joke and say shaving my legs is my cardio for the week. I mean, be honest... it is similar to a full body work out. Don't get me wrong, I don't have like man legs, but I am a little more lenient.
3. All. The. Decorations. Can we be honest? I was ready to set up all my pumpkin, acorn, candy corn, and leaf decor in the beginning of August. A dear friend told me, if it's still 80 degrees out, I can't. With this cold snap though, I totally started digging out my decor. This is the season for decorations. You start with fall decor, move into Halloween, transition to Thanksgiving, and top the year off with the mightiest of all decor Christmas.
Disclaimer- I am looking for some fall DIY decor ideas. Last year I made some incredible door decorations, but haven't decided my plans for this year.
2. The short span where central heat/AC isn't necessary. We take full advantage of this time because we save mega bucks on our electric bill. (If you're on Jellico electric, you totally understand.) IT is cool enough to leave the AC off, and warm enough to avoid turning the heat on. Cold? Get a blanket. Warm? Turn on the fan. Open the windows, and get some fresh air!
1. Changing of the colors. There is some magical about the fall. The foliage begins to change colors, and the leaves descend from the trees. The crisp cool air and the dense fog settling in the mornings. I always viewed the transition from summer to fall as some type of renewal. Shedding your leaves and flowers in preparation for winter and a brand new awakening in the spring. It's a reminder of how the world works, and tomorrow is always a new day.

Comfort Foods for those Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Days
Everyone has a bad day, but there are days you can't seem to shake it. Those days call for a comfy bed, covers over your head, and some comfort food. Now, don't get it twisted- this is not about eating my emotions. (Unless stressed, haha.) But there are some dishes that remind us of our families, associated with a specific memory, and just taste dang good.
Top 5 Comfort Foods for those terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day:
5. Stepmomma's Chicken Enchiladas
I only get this meal once a year- on my birthday. My dad/stepmomma come to visit for my birthday weekend and I'm fortunate she cooks the entire weekend! Her chicken enchiladas though... They are amazing. Just ask anyone I've shared with. I've tried recreating the recipe and trying others, but it's just not the same.
4. Geneva's Vegetable Soup
My husband's grandmother ALWAYS calls when she makes a big kettle of vegetable soup. It's hearty, tomato-y goodness.
3. Grilled Cheese
I don't care who, when, or how it's made. I love a good grilled cheese. It always makes me feel better, so on those not so great days I need a pick me up? I grab some bread and two slices of cheese and make a grilled cheese. Add some back on the middle... heaven!
2. Mac and Cheese
Cheesy noodle goodness. Now, I am picky about my mac and cheese. I guess you could say I am more of a shells and cheese person. Mac and cheese always reminds me of home. I remember when I was younger, that was meal of choice for my mom and me. You can make a large portion for next to nothing.
1. Mamaw's Chicken and Dumplings
Ask anyone in my family what's the best dish my mamaw makes? I bet you they will answer chicken and dumplings. They are a hard thing to perfect: consistency, dumpligs, flavor, etc.. Somehow my mamaw makes it perfect every time. In her house, don't expect little droplet dumplings or huge biscuit ones, I am telling you they are a perfect mix of the two. NO ONE's compares to my mamaw's.
These aren't extravagant dishes ordifficult to make. I think what the difference is they are made with love. It's that ingredient you can't bottle or purchase at a store. It's the work of people who want to provide a delicious meal for their family. That's why there is no recipe attached. I could tell you exactly how to make the above but it wouldn't taste the same.
Today, I ask you to stop and think about your favorite dish. If it's linked to someone near and dear to your heart, pick up the phone or stop by to tell them how much you appreciate them!

There's Always Tomorrow.
I have always been an advocate for skin care. I'm not knocking those who just use soap and water on your face, because lets face it (see what I did there?)... you are still washing your face. In my younger years, I was HORRIBLE for not washing my makeup off at night. I thought, ehh, I will do it in the morning. Now, as I see my skin aging and changing every day, I would not DARE to even THINK about sleeping in my my makeup. I would even lecture Holly Golighty because she doesn't wash her makeup off before bed either.
Did you ever think about the effects of sleeping in your makeup? No... let me share some facts with you. One night may not harm you, but repeat offenders could be causing irreversible damage to your skin.
Since we all learn differently, I've added a visual as well. This is my make-up remover cloth after wiping down my face. This... was a light day of makeup- minimal contouring, minimal shadow/mascara, and mineral powder foundation. Look at all the product that could be causing damage to my skin!! Also, those shadows and that activity tracker are new and current faves. I'm sure they'll make a blog appearance again.
On the other hand...
I've had quite the challenging past week or so. Life has beat me up, and there were times that I could just hide under the covers. At the end of the day, I could come home, wash my face, and feel a million times better. I swear there is some therapeutic value for me. No matter how crappy, how terrible, or how demanding a day could be washing my face reminds me there is always tomorrow. Call me crazy, but I swear it is a small reminder that everything will be okay. I can wash away today and be ready for a brand new tomorrow.
Here's my challenge to you. If you are already an avid face washer, kudos! If not, force yourself to wash your makeup off 5 consecutive nights in a row. I promise you won't regret it!!
Now, I've already washed my face, wrote you a quick blog, and drank my sleepytime tea. Sweet dreams clean faces!
Did you ever think about the effects of sleeping in your makeup? No... let me share some facts with you. One night may not harm you, but repeat offenders could be causing irreversible damage to your skin.
- Makeup attracts free radicals which can break down the collagen in your skin causing more prominent fine lines. Your skin rebuilds over night, and by sleeping in your makeup, your interrupting the process. WRINKLES
- Makeup clogs your pores. Your poor little pores are clogged overnight, and then in the morning, you wake up with pimples on the day of your huge presentation. One night won't hurt, but over time your pores become more and more clogged. ACNE
- Liquid foundations and oil-based primers are the worst offenders. These heavy products sink into your pores, and they become impacted. Coupled with collagen breakdown, your pores overtime don't shrink back to their normal size. LARGE PORES
- When sleeping in mascara, the product becomes dry and flaky. This could cause eye irritation, but when you rub those flaky eyes, you could be pulling out your eyelashes! SPARSE LASHES

Why not? Wednesday and a Giveaway!!!: Shimmer Eye Shadows and Primers
This Why Not Wednesday has been in the works for a while. Mostly because as you will notice, I've tried a fair share of products to find my favorite one(s).
I am a HUGE fan of cream eye shadows. I know some of you will cringe and think the only thing they do is crease. Well I would be lying if I didn't encounter that same problem. After a lot of trial and error, I found some that I really really like. I am not an eyeshadow primer fan. It always feels a little too heavy for my lids, but I do like using a cream as a base. I think it provides a little more 'adhesive' for my shadow. I will use an eye primer if it is a special event, or I know I will be sweating/outside. Here is a review for 8 total I've tried and definitely listed in order. My favorites... all come from e.l.f. which means they are extremely affordable.
8. e.l.f. Glitter Primer: This is thick, and I really didn't see any glitter flakes. It dries extremely chalky and left a white residue on my lids. There is no evident staying power as indicated in an eyeshadow primer. It was originally bought on a whim since I found it at our local Dollar Tree for $1.00. You can purchase this online for $2.00 on e.l.f.'s website. Eye Glitter Primer
7. Hard Candy Eye's the Limit Shadow Primer: This is creamier and thinner than the primer mentioned above. It was included in a gift set I received for Christmas, so no harm done in trying it out. I couldn't get this to dry. It remained tacky, and my shadow creased like crazy. I tried it with glitter, matter, satin, and any other shadow you could imagine. You can only find this at WalMart for $5.00. Eye's the Limit
6. Maybelline Color Tattoo: This is the only *matte* base I own. I also found this at our local Dollar Tree hence why I have a less than ideal color. I really like this to build my crease. It does an amazing job, but I cannot use it as an all over base. The shadow sticks well and keeps it in place. I can't speak to creasing because I used it as a builder. I think I would enjoy these in a different shade. Color Tattoo
5. Mary Kay Cream Eye Color: These are very creamy and work best be used with a concealer type brush. There is a range of colors. I used the lighters ones as an entire base, but also used the darker colors as eyeshadow. They offer nine different colors are a mix of shimmer and matter. These run about $14.00, but I know Cari, my BFF, runs amazing deals and great parties. Shop with her today! Mary Kay Cream Eye Color
4. e.l.f Facial Whip: For $1.00, you can't beat this buy! It is extremely pigmented and multipurpose. I love the glitter power of this product. It makes for a great base shadow. My con, it is very watery, so it can be hard to manage and placement can be a little messy. It dries somewhat quickly; although, I do have to wait for it to dry before applying the next color. It is available in 3 colors. It can be purchased in your local drugstore or online. e.l.f. Facial Whip
3. Mary Kay Cream Highlighter: MK why do you do this to me?! It is DISCONTINUED!!! I would still be using this as my cream base if it wasn't insanely hard to find. This was actually developed to be a cream highlighter. I used it as an all over eyeshadow base. It is so creamy, just the right amount of shimmer, stays in place, and doesn't crease!!! I can't find a direct link, but there are some on Ebay for sale.. at an inflated price.
2. e.l.f. Shimmer Palette: This small palette offers four different colors- an icy silver, two pinkish peaches, and a taupe/sand color. These are weightless and smooth. This is another multipurpose makeup product. I mostly use it as an all over eye base, but occasionally as an inner eye corner and nose highlighter. I also really like this if I am going for a somewhat natural look. It's the right amount of sheen. I've not seen this in store, but you can purchase it online. e.l.f. Shimmer Palette
DRUM ROLL PLEASE...
1. e.l.f. Smudge Pot: I LOVE THESE THINGS!!! They are almost identical to the texture of the MK Cream Highlighter mentioned above. These things also DO NOT come off. There is no movement, no creasing, no smudging (despite the name). There is an assortment of colors and great for a smoky eye- a total of 11. The names are super cute. My favorite color is Ain't that Sweet? It is a pink base, but the glitter flakes are multicolored. When in the sun, it has a holographic, iridescent effect. Gorgeous!! These are $3.00 a pod, which I think is great! Only con- I don't like how these are applied with a brush, and I wish the mouth of the pod was a little wider for accessibility. Local drug stores sell some colors, but for the full range check out online. e.l.f. Smudge Pots
Below are swatches of all the products except #7 and #8.

Intelligence and Ambition: Bare Necessities
I've been tested a lot lately, and sometimes I beat myself up for things I shouldn't. The below is a quote I have etched in my brain. Without either, where are you ever going to go in life? You will remain right where you are... Now, if you are happy with that good for you! But, I believe there is always room to grow and improve.
Where is this leading to? A very, very poor in taste meme I seen scrolling through social media. Lately, I've seen more and more posts that makes me stop and shake my head. Most of those things I will not drag into my blog; however, I did see this meme today... it really irritated me. Brace yourself.
Seriously? Seriously?! I don't know why this irritates me so much, but it does. For more reason than one.
1. There is a difference between "are" and "our". It makes me cringe and I feel a migraine developing. Come on, basic English people!
2. This generation is not as terrible as people think it is. I'm sure you've heard more than once someone cursing these darn kids. There are some major issues with this generation, but don't label us all into that category.
3. A man cooking?! Good for him! Did you know it is 2015? Gender roles are continually changing. I will agree that women AND men should know how to cook. It's a basic survival skill, but the idea a woman is SUPPOSED to cook... Yeah, that's not happening. My first few years of marriage, my husband primarily cooked, and we were okay with it. Now, I gained some new skills and amazing recipes, so I primarily cook, and we are okay with that too.

I'm not even going to pick apart this meme. I really hope that's a grilled cheese he is cooking because that is literally in the top 5 of comfort foods.
A little intelligence and ambition can take you a long way- even providing you with the ability to create a grammatically correct meme.

Second Largest Profitable Industry, and it's not what you think.
We axed regular cable TV, so when I visit someone I'm always intrigued to see what station there TV is left on. Tonight while visiting my grandparents, the 6PM news droned in the background. I'm not one to watch the news, but today something really caught my eye and ear.
Human trafficking is a growing issue in this country. Being in SE Kentucky, you think... oh, that never happens in my town. Just last week, several people were indicted with trafficking charges in relation to a child UNDER the age of 12. I've heard several instances and stories about trafficking either through the internet or on TV, but now it is in your backyard people.
I wanted to learn a little more and find some statistics regarding the trafficking industry:
First, the only way I know to help is to pray and pray hard for the victims and for release from their modern day slavery. Second, it is all about self and public awareness. I've committed to learn the red flags and warning signs of those who are victims of human trafficking. You never know who is hiding in plain sight and who you might be able to save.

I've heard several instances and stories about trafficking either through the internet or on TV, but now it is in your backyard people.
I wanted to learn a little more and find some statistics regarding the trafficking industry:
- Human Trafficking is a 32 billion dollar industry
- It is the 2nd largest source for profits, of course behind drugs
- 100,000 to 300,000 number of sexually exploited children in the US
- The average age of a trafficked victim in the US is 14
- Girls as young as FIVE are known to be sold into child prostitution
- 27 MILLION people are enslaved today worldwide
First, the only way I know to help is to pray and pray hard for the victims and for release from their modern day slavery. Second, it is all about self and public awareness. I've committed to learn the red flags and warning signs of those who are victims of human trafficking. You never know who is hiding in plain sight and who you might be able to save.
In the US you can contact the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) toll free and 24/7 at 1-888-373-7888 to report any incidences or cases.
Please visit the link provided for more information NHTRC
If in immediate danger, call 911!
I ask that you say some prayers. I know I am.

Think you're ready for a tattoo?
The topic of debate at my house recently has been the addition of tattoos. No, mom, don't worry. I am no getting any more. Joe has decided he wants another, and it has sparked somewhat of a debate.
Now, let me be clear. This is not a debate of whether he should or shouldn't. If he wants another... great. What this debate is about, what this tattoo should be. Joe has a knack for drawing and has developed some wicked designs. Most relate back to and honor his father in some way. The one I am not crazy about is the sugar skull. I found two sugar skulls that I said would look absolutely great on him, but for some reason, he doesn't think so.
I am all for tattoos, and I have some of my own. Since Joe let it slip to my mother how many I really I have, I can now own up to all of them. Total of six, but let me share some things to think about before the ink hits the skin.
Disclaimer: I do not regret any of my tattoos. They are a part of me, and each have significance or a memory associated with them.
Things You Probably Should Think About:
1. It's there literally forever. (Unless you pay three times the money and endure three times the pain to have it removed.) Do you want to look at it forever? Everyday, every single day. Make sure it is exactly what you want and spelled correctly.
2. Is that song lyric, quote, passage still going to be cool or meaningful in ten years? If you don't immediately say yes, reconsider.
3. Are tattoos frowned up in your profession? Now, I know this is a heated topic, and as times change, the work place is becoming more cognizant and lenient towards tattoos as long as they are not offensive. (That is a whole different topic for another day.) All of mine can be concealed should I choose too. My feet are usually the ones people see when I have a dress or skirt and heels on.
4. How's your finances? Do NOT do this on the cheap. I am all about a deal, but when altering your body for LIFE, here's where you want to spend your money. If your artist is offers to do it for cheap, it's probably too good to be true.
5. Have you researched your artist? Again, you are altering your body FOREVER, Cleanliness and sterilization should be your top priorities. On top of that, you want someone who knows what they are doing. Review their portfolio. With today's technology, it's a lot easier. Artist's or tattoo shops have social media profiles with albums and albums of pictures.
Think about it people! Don't end up on Pinterest as a tattoo fail.

Lazy Girl Cinnamon Sticky Buns
Ahhhhh.... a three day weekend. Let's not forget this isn't all about an extra day off work, but about liberty, freedom, and the right to be an American. However, that is an entirely different post.
I woke up craving something good (as in tasty, not healthy) for breakfast. With at 40 or so minute commute, I usually grab a granola bar, fruit, or yogurt. What I really wanted though was something sweet, syrupy, sugary, and delicious, but without the work...
After seeing what was on hand, I decided to create something.
1. Can of Grands Homestyle Biscuits
2. 2 tablespoons of butter (melted)
3. 1/2 cup of maple syrup
4. 1/2 cup (or so) of syrup
5. 1/3 - 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
6. A couple tablespoons of brown sugar (I eyeballed it!)
And voila! We have Lazy Girl Cinnamon Sticky Buns.
Pre-Heat oven to 375
Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together in a small cup/bowl
I used a loaf pan, but a bundt or small cake pan would work as well.
Spray the pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Pour half of the melted butter in the pan topped with half of the maple syrup.
Sprinkle the pan with half the brown sugar mixture.
Layer the biscuits and overlap the edges.
Pour remaining butter mixture and maple syrup on top of the biscuits.
Top it off with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
Throw those babies in the oven about 25-27 minutes.

No Orange, No Stripes
Two words: District Court
Have you ever had to experience going to court? Well, last week I had my first (and last) experience with court. It was a speeding ticket and quite a few mphs over the posted speed limit. It was probably one of the most terrifying experiences, Ever.
I arrived early and watched all the cases before mine. The video conferenced in those already incarcerated. The other cases were sentencing for random charges. Finally, traffic court began. He called name-after name, most of which decided not appear for court. Then, I hear... Jerrica Moses.
I walk slowly to the podium where he reads my charges. "How do you plead?"
Uhhh what?! My stomach dropped to my toes, and my mouth sealed shut. I would pay money to see the look on my face. Before I could even murmur a noise, the judge answers for me. He explains the consequences of driving fast and asks what I learned from this. "I never want to be here again." Not the best answer, but the judge seemed to enjoy it. He laughed, and then said, dismissed.
But here's what I really learned from this experience:
1. People have no respect for the justice system or the judge. Most of the other people waiting for their cases were less than presentable. Most were in pajamas and their hair not even combed. Come on people! At least bathe and not wear a hat. Your appearance is the first thing anyone in that court room notices. Your lack of effort is disrespectful the judge and justice system.
2. Turn OFF your cell phone. This is just common sense. Your ridiculously loud ringtone distracts every one in the courtroom. The county I had to attend court in confiscates your phone for 48 hours if it goes off while court is in session. Again, it is a respect thing.
3. Have all documents together before going to the podium. Countless people spent several minutes fumbling around finding drivers license, insurance cards, and other documentation needed for the judge. Having it ready prior saves both you, the judge, and the 100s of people waiting their turn.
4. Don't text and drive. You might think that using your phone while driving is okay, that you have it under control. Law enforcement and judges DO NOT take this lightly. I listened to the judge lecture a young lady about how dangerous it is, and that he cannot understand why people think this is okay. She walked away with over $1000 in fines. Visit DoT website for more information about distracted driving.
5. I am definitely slowing down. I don't know what is worse. That I had to go to court or the anxiety I faced in the weeks leading up to court.
Take it from me, it's not worth it. And orange is definitely NOT my color.

Why Not? Wednesday- e.l.f. Essential Lipstick $1.00
It's Wednesday! Half way through the week. Thank goodness!! This is the first week I've been fully functional at work and partially functional at home. I only say partially because I've been exhausted. I'm talking like come home at 7PM and falling asleep. One of my coworkers even text me yesterday to make sure I was awake.
I was in a rush to get to work today. Wednesdays I have an 8:30 AM call that pretty much dominates my morning. It also seems that every Wednesday something happens... running late, speeding ticket, laptop crashed. Today- I was awake, on time, and ready to go. Before walking in the door to work, I quickly checked in the mirror to make sure I'm presentable. I thought holy smokes... this lop color is super gorgeous. I actually wear it often and just purchased my second tube.I was hesitant about purchasing because it was a whole $1.00. I thought Why not?
These are from elf cosmetics- Essential Lipstick. These colors are Sociable, Classy, Nostalgic. They are smooth and moisturizing. They are not waxy or sticky- my BIGGEST lip product pet peeve. I do have to reapply around lunch, so it's definitely not one that lasts all day long. It's not matte but not glossy. It's in between. The pigmentation is hit and miss. I had really AWESOME results out of Classy, but the other two lacked in pigmentation.

2. Classy- a super, soft pink. Very, very pretty. This is my FAV. It reminds me of the lip color on Miranda Lambert- Mama's Broken Heart video. Like I said, it's my second tube.
3. Nostalgic- It's a sheer nude, so sheer you can't even see it in the picture. It also makes me look like a zombie. It. Was. Awful. Maybe I just got a bum one. The texture isn't even the same as the others.
Overall, I would say they are mediocre. I had two misses and one hit. Would I tell you to go buy them now? No. Would I tell you if interested buy one or two to try? Yes. For a dollar, it's not too big of a loss. And, if it doesn't work out, give it to a friend.
You can check out these lipsticks and more by visiting their website. Prepare to splurge.
Also, you can purchase at your local drugstore. :)
PS I won a Maybelline The Smokes palette on Ebay! It should be here by early next week. I am so EXCITED!

June *Drugstore* Wishlist
I have incredibly sensitive skin, so when it comes to purchasing new products I am VERY selective. I do a ton of research- reviewing ingredient lists to see if this would even come close to being compatible with my skin. Which usually leads to a wishlist, and this one is drugstore affordable!
1. Maybelline- The Smokes palette: 12 shadows in the palette- most in the dark smokey range. There's a few colors that absolutely caught my eye, so I am on the search for this. It was release some time ago, and now near impossible to find. I've bid on a few through Ebay, but no success yet. Now, I *did* but The Blushed Nudes and only mildly satisfied (pigmentation issues). So why buy this one?? Well, I do NOT wear dark colors, so if this has the same formula and pigmentation issues... This could be potentially useful for me. Price (average): $12-18 on Ebay
2. Garnier Fructis- Root Amp: I am a sucker for root pumpers. I have a short, asymmetrical, stacked hair cut, and root pump is a MUST. Currently, I use a high end brand and not a fan of the cost. I've always had good results with Garnier and totally excited for this new volume line. Price: $4.29 Fancy details here.
3. Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout: The color caught my eye first. It is a soft pink and adorable. It is Matte- which is an even bigger plus. I've read a few blogs that claims it is also a Mac dupe, so we shall see. Price: $7.99 Fancy details here.
4. Yes to Cucumbers- Facial Cleansing Wipes: When I was younger I had no issues ruining countless wash cloths because I knew my mom could *always* get the makeup stains out. In adulthood... I don't have time for that, so facial cleanings cloths are my new best friend. I've read REALLY great things about all their products, but I have never tried them. Plus, I am always searching for a facial wipe. I've not yet found one I am in love with. Price: $5.99 Fancy details here.
5. Wet'n'Wild- Nude Awakening palette: I present to you another palette that is not available in store, and I cannot find on Ebay. I have a similar palette in Comfort Zone, and it is awesome. Pigmentation and wear-ability on point. I fell in love with this because of one color- Right hand Column, Crease color. It's like a slate, metallic-y gray-blue. I need this!! No details for Nude Awakening, but here is information for Comfort Zone. Price: $4.68
6. Maybelline- Eye Studio Master Graphic: Confession: I cannot do a winged liner. Why? One side is impeccably better than the other. I try to even out, and it smudges. I try to fix it again, and I look like a mix between Harley Quinn and a Panda. (Not that I am complaining about HQ, but work might frown upon it). I thought with this angled tip pen, there might be a little more hope for me. Price: $7.99 Fancy details here.
What is on your June Wishlist? Do you have any drugstore products you think I would love?
Oooh- Update. I found frame one for my back-up craft project. I immediately regret not buying the 2nd frame, so I might be venturing out to grab the second one.

Why Not Wednesday? Mary Kay After Sun Replenishing Gel
Wild hair and little kid sunnies |
*Disclaimer: I DID use copious amounts of sunblock.
I am an avid protester or extreme tanning and the use of tanning beds!*
Leg to Arm comparison- OUCH! |
I thought I was in the clear, and I wouldn't be as burned as expected. Late evening rolls around, and I was miserable. I was so miserable I contemplated how I was going to wear pants or move around. I frantically searched the internet for ways to help relieve some of the pain. We tried vinegar, tea, tea bags, tea soaked towels, sacrifices to the sun, more tea- with no relief. The next day, it was even worse. (Thankfully, it was Sunday, and I decided to stay home- which means I didn't have to wear pants.) I remembered, from my old days of being a Mary Kay consultant, I had a bottle or two of the After Sun Replenishing Gel. I thought... Why not?
What a relief. It instantly pulled the burning sensation/feeling from my body. I've used it pretty regularly, and so far, I have no signs of peeling. It also reduced the puffiness and overall ache of having a sunburn.
This is a cool blue gel that absorbs into the skin almost instantly. I am able to get dressed after applying- which isn't the case for most gel based products. It's not STICKY! Another plus. It contains botanical extracts filled with antioxidants to improve moisturzation. We all know the sun can leave you stripped of all teh vitals for vibrant skin. This product is designed to give you all that back, and more. NOTE: This is NOT sunblock or contain any SPF elements.
This retails for $14.00 a bottle from any Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. You can check out the product here Mary Kay After Sun Replenishing Gel.
If you do not have a consultant, please please please talk to my bestie- Cari King! She is amazing at what she does and offers a variety of services. She is an Advanced Color Consultant, and can answer ANY color related question. My favorite thing about her business? She is all about customer service! What business do you know that will drive to meet you, personalize your look, answer any and all questions, deliver straight to you, and provide a 100% guarantee on your products? Click here to learn more about Cari and her business---> Cari King- Mary Kay INDEPENDENT Beauty Consultant
Have a pool? Going to the beach? Hang out with the kiddos at the water-park? Regular tanner? I recommend this product this product to keep skin nourished and glowing! (Just not glowing red in my case)

Creative Crunch- View of the Backlog
It's Monday. M. O. N. D. A. Y.
This Monday was definitely a Monday. Rough start this morning, dealing with a sunburn (<--- perfect topic for Why Not? Wednesday), a STYE, construction, a ton of emails, backing up my old laptop, working with IT for my new laptop, and rain. I'm not complaining about the rain though because my poor, sickly yard needed it.
I come home, follow routine, and needed something out of my office. My office... is currently the catch-all of the house piled with totes, stuff I need to donate, and a backlog of crafts. I used to craft quite often, and then life just happened. I have piles and boxes of half finished crafts or never even start crafts. I couldn't even tell you the last thing I created... which is sad. I seriously have a backlog and a list of crafts I need to complete.
My next idea... I need a crafting group. Once a month, affordable pinterest project, wine, chocolate, and the company of one another. Would you be interested? Even if you're not crafty, we can at least have a good time. Shoot. I'll make my craft and your's. I need a creative outlet. I mean, I have my blog, but I want to build, paint, sew, SOMETHING.
Needless to say I've been in somewhat of a creative crunch. My heart says yes, but my brain says no. Not so much my brain, but my body. I'm pooped by the end of the day, and the weekends are filled with errands and laundry. To keep me on track... I'm posting for the world to see my top priority crafts (so you can hold me accountable):
1. Adding frilly extenders and width to now-too-small shirts. First, don't judge me. Second, I LOVE these shirts and can't bring myself to get rid of them, so after some pinning I found a way to combine the two. I don't like the tutorials I found, so I am winging it. I have this almost metallic blue button up that needs a little extra room, but I also have this sheer, flowy top that just isn't my style anymore.
2. This project has been on the back-burner for sometime. I inherited the bag for my birthday; well, it had a gift in it too. I fell in LOVE with the print. I want to frame the print. I want to old, decorative frames that I can paint to coordinate with the colors. If I could find some gorgeous wood frames I would settle for that as well. I HATE to buy the frames new, so I have been scouring local thrift stores in hopes of finding something. I would like two frames preferably bigger than an 8X10.
3. This. This is the best of the best. A friend bought this for my birthday, but it's not your average color by number... It's the adult version. I want to finish this, but I need to be in the right mindset. Haha. I also need both eyes to work properly (without a stye). Oh yeah... best thing about it, it's CATS.
Here's to my commitment to finish these, and then start on the 100s of others hanging out in my office.

What Not Wednesday? $90 Savings- Assured RX Razor
Do you want to know something I absolutely hate buying?! Razors, razor cartridges, anything shaving related. Most products are outrageously expensive. If you are sensitive skinned, tack on a few extra dollars.
One time I sat down and calculated how much Joe and I were spending on razors and cream.
But ladies, I have found razors that are incredible and a fraction of the cost. One day, I was strolling the aisles of the Dollar Tree. I seen a ton of razor options, but thought... yeah right. I bet you they are crap. Then I thought again, it's $1.00. Why not?
I opted for the Assured RX brand- Triple Blade for Women because it offered what I usually look for in a razor. They also offer a men's option. These razors offer curved edge for comfort, a lubricating strip, rubber grip, and triple blades. Plus, they are pink. First use- super, super smooth shave. No nicks, cuts, or blood. My legs were even eat up with mosquito bites, and the razor didn't irritate them. Love the curved design of the blade, as it provides an even closer shave. You're not forced to do crazy yoga poses to reach the back of your thigh.
For $1.00 you receive 5 razors in the package. I've only used a couple of weeks, and I'm still using the first razor out of the package. I've searched and searched for answers on how often you should change your razor/blade, and the answer is inconclusive. It is dependent upon the user: how often you shave, the size of the area, the texture of your hair, if you care for your razor, etc.. What I can tell you. Throw away any RUSTED razor immediately. If it is beginning to tug or pull your hair, replace. If you're not as smooth of a shave change it out. I have scarring images that come to mind when thinking about bad razors and bad shaving... Cabin in the Woods, that girl shaving her legs in the bath. DO. NOT. GOOGLE.

Jerrica- Razor + Cartridge+ Cream= $30 about every three months
Approximately $120a year people!!

I'm thinking one razor will last me three to four weeks, so I've reduced my cost from about $30 to around $7 every three months.
I recommend you to at least try them. Save some money!! These should be available at your local Dollar Tree.

Meow or Never: Recap
Let's recap.
The last couple of months or so have been some of the most challenging and demanding of my entire life. Basically February on has been a crap shoot. I will spare you the grueling details of every month, but I will hit some of the high points. These were total life changing events.
I watched addiction overcome my father-in-law. My husband decipher the ugly actions of others. My once best friend drift farther away. Every day struggles of the workplace. Inconceivable actions of those you love most. The most devastating and heartbreaking news.
Before I begin, keep in mind THIS. IS. REAL. It is no way an excuse or a crutch.
Since hitting my 20s I have struggled with migraines, irregular cycles, emotional highs and lows, severe stomach pains, and of course, weight gain. I didn't really think anything of it until... I have a menstrual cycle that lasted 10-12 weeks. Yes. 3 straight months. A coworker finally forced me to go to the doctor.
After test after test, days of waiting, an ultrasound, and thousands of dollars... I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and borderline diabetic. Those two pretty much go hand in hand for women diagnosed with PCOS. It explained sooo many issues I had been facing: irregular painful periods, weight gain, issues losing weight, depression, hair growth.
These are all things I can fix though. I was placed on a low-carb diet and dropped 20 lbs. in no time. My periods had become regulated with the help of medicine. My moods were better as my hormones became more balanced. And the hair... that's a whole different post.
What I didn't realize, PCOS causes fertility problems. Wait. Hold. Stop. Excuse me?
These five years everyone has asked when why we don't have kids... I am the problem? The one thing a woman can do in life... I can't? I've spent years thinking it's just not the right time. I convinced my brain I didn't want children, but my heart felt otherwise. I masked my emotions because I just knew it would happen one day. Now, there's a little more solidity to the lack of diapers and bottles at the Moses house. (Disclaimer: I know things can change, miracles happen, and there's adoption options.) Now, it's a little different when people mention babies.
What's even harder is the people who are insensitive to the issue. It's hard to shop for baby shower gifts- let alone, attending one. It's enraging to watch you- 6 months pregnant- smoke and talk about using illegal substances. It's difficult to see you treat your children so poorly. It's heartbreaking when you say, "Ah, kids aren't worth it anyway." It's upsetting when you say, maybe you should try harder, quit trying, try this medicine, talk to this doctor. The worst, "maybe you wouldn't be a good parent anyways."
But... I trudge on through. I have supportive people in my life, and I am grateful for that. I am even more grateful for a God who knows exactly what he's doing. I am coping and learning as I venture through life. One day at a time. On my toughest days, I remember the John 13:7 and it puts a smile on my face.

Return of the Blog
Remember that time I said I was going to create a blog and stick to it? Yeah, me too. I swear I had really good intentions. It was also part of my New Years resolutions to pick it back up too. I have a dear friend who is giving up social media for some time and turning to writing her on blog. This brain started churning... I remembered this old thing, that New Years resolution. What I remembered the most? How much I enjoyed my blog. An outlet to write. A way to tell people what I want to say. A place for all things me.
I don't think I have posted anything since September 2014. I am only like 8 months off. No biggie. Do you know how much can change in eight months though??
You know what is coming next....
1. 8 months of catch up (somehow)
2. My ever changing and growing spiritual journey
3. Ups and downs of my recently diagnosed issues
4. Why not Wednesdays (My personal fav!)
5. Low Carb, healthier, lifestyle change
6. All things girlie
7. All girlie challenges
8. Any and everything in between
What do you want to read?? Email, comment, message me to let me know! (lovelacelemonade@gmail.com)
I vow to do better. Pinky promise.
