One time I sat down and calculated how much Joe and I were spending on razors and cream.
Jerrica- Razor + Cartridge+ Cream= $30 about every three months
Approximately $120a year people!!
But ladies, I have found razors that are incredible and a fraction of the cost. One day, I was strolling the aisles of the Dollar Tree. I seen a ton of razor options, but thought... yeah right. I bet you they are crap. Then I thought again, it's $1.00. Why not?
I opted for the Assured RX brand- Triple Blade for Women because it offered what I usually look for in a razor. They also offer a men's option. These razors offer curved edge for comfort, a lubricating strip, rubber grip, and triple blades. Plus, they are pink. First use- super, super smooth shave. No nicks, cuts, or blood. My legs were even eat up with mosquito bites, and the razor didn't irritate them. Love the curved design of the blade, as it provides an even closer shave. You're not forced to do crazy yoga poses to reach the back of your thigh.
For $1.00 you receive 5 razors in the package. I've only used a couple of weeks, and I'm still using the first razor out of the package. I've searched and searched for answers on how often you should change your razor/blade, and the answer is inconclusive. It is dependent upon the user: how often you shave, the size of the area, the texture of your hair, if you care for your razor, etc.. What I can tell you. Throw away any RUSTED razor immediately. If it is beginning to tug or pull your hair, replace. If you're not as smooth of a shave change it out. I have scarring images that come to mind when thinking about bad razors and bad shaving... Cabin in the Woods, that girl shaving her legs in the bath. DO. NOT. GOOGLE.
I'm thinking one razor will last me three to four weeks, so I've reduced my cost from about $30 to around $7 every three months.
I recommend you to at least try them. Save some money!! These should be available at your local Dollar Tree.
